Ballarat Bargain Browser

The Ballarat Bargain Browser is an exciting new BRACE Education Training and Employment project that will give the Ballarat community a range of new opportunities.

This opportunity will:

  • Provide people with a disability the opportunity to develop work and social skills in a retail setting
  • Bring people together in an inclusive work environment
  • Provide skills training for those less advantaged
  • Train people in accredited training in retail
  • Allow community members to volunteer
  • Recycle goods for community benefit

"BRACE is excited about the new project which will provide real opportunities for many community members who would not normally have the opportunity to train in a retail setting," Mr Christopher Carroll, CEO BRACE Education Training Employment said.

"The importance of opportunity shops like Ballarat Bargain Browser can be seen in times when we have a lower economy, by providing social, education and training opportunities. Our community will be strengthened through the multiple opportunities available with this project," he said.

The opportunity shop is located in Eastwood Street, and has recently been transferred to BRACE with the generous support of Baptcare.

Any donations including clothing, bric a brac, books and magazines, household items, shoes, jewellery, tools, children?s toys and furniture are greatly appreciated and can be dropped in at the Ballarat Bargain Browser or placed in the donation bins located at BRACE in Windermere Street, at the North Ballarat Baptist Church in Walker Street or the Buninyong Hardware Carpark.

Pick up can be arranged for larger items or large quantities by calling Heather on (03) 5332 2533.
