Consider the following questions in relation to your business idea:
Who are my customers and how will I reach them?
Have I tested my potential market?
Have I determined the resources I will require to operate my business?
How will I acquire those resources?
Have I investigated and determined my business' legal responsibilities?
Am I able to get insurance for my business?
Competition for NEIS placements is tough. Interested persons must attend a one-hour information session, then complete a business proposal application form and attend an interview, where the viability of your potential business will be assessed and your eligibility will be determined. If you are deemed eligible, you will need to attend Certificate IV in Business (Small Business Management) training and develop a business plan. This plan will be presented by you to BRACE's NEIS committee. The committee will assess your plan and recommend the businesses that are likely to be financially viable within 12 months and should benefit from NEIS income support. Successful applicants then sign a NEIS contract and payment of NEIS income support is granted for up to 12 months.
